Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

1. Why should I hire a professional organizer?
A professional organizer comes into a space with empathy, organizing knowledge and skills, and a fresh pair of eyes. They are able to objectively see both the big picture and individual steps needed to get to your vision. Not only do they help you get organized, they transfer skills and teach the systems so you can stay organized. This will be a transformational experience! Professional organizers understand the act of organizing and paring down can be a very emotional process and will act as your guide in navigating the project to success. This also rings true for photo organizing.

2. Do I need to be there when you organize?
Each project is personalized and tailored to fit the client’s needs and schedule. You make the decisions regarding what items remain or go. Communication is always key. We can work together during each session or I can work independently to sort and put agreed upon systems in place.

3. Why do I need a home inventory?
A home inventory is a record with photos of your possessions in your home. Digital files of receipts or other documentation can be added to prove purchase information and value. The inventory also includes photos of the exterior and rooms in your home to document their condition. Home inventories help you prepare for:

  • a move
  • disasters, such as flood or fire
  • distribution of assets upon death
  • estate appraisal
  • ensuring sufficient homeowners or renters insurance coverage
  • divorce settlement

6. Do you have insurance?
